Minining Health & Safety

Specialist occupational hygiene services for mining operations, fully compliant with MHSA Act 29 of 1996 and DMR requirements.

1. Legal Appointment

Appointment of qualified Occupational Hygienist with Chamber of Mines Certificate in Mine Environmental Control, including formal SLA with KPIs.

2. Baseline Risk Assessment

Comprehensive mine occupational health baseline and issue-based risk assessments, with risk profiles and hazard registers.

3. Mandatory COPs

Preparation and implementation of mandatory codes of practice for noise, airborne pollutants, thermal stress, fitness to work, and emergency preparedness.

4. Hygiene Exposure Monitoring

Personal sampling for airborne dust, noise, heat stress, cold stress, and welding fumes; reporting to Mine Manager and DMR on prescribed forms.

5. MHSC Milestone Management

Equipment noise assessments for NIHL milestone compliance and silicosis milestone airborne dust sampling with respirable crystalline silica analysis.

6. Hygiene Inspection

Walk-through health and hygiene surveys of all mine facilities, including change houses, ablution facilities, illumination, and potable water sampling.
